Admission Threshold & Data Points
Only admits PhD students. Top students from target schools. Mainly depends on connections. The following are all PhD admission data points:
- Tsinghua Automation undergrad, at least 3 first-author top conference papers at time of application
- Tsinghua Economics undergrad, rank 1 (GPA 3.99), Jane Street QT intern, three first-author AI top conference papers at time of application
- Tsinghua Measurement and Control undergrad, rank 1, UMich + Stanford research intern
- Tsinghua CS undergrad, Finance minor, visited Stanford, two AI top conference papers at time of application
- Tsinghua EE undergrad, APhO Gold Medal, three years of RA experience at Tsinghua, one top physics journal publication at time of application
- IIT undergrad, GPA 9.3, 500 citations at time of application
- Mexico's top 1 university CS undergrad, GPA 9.31/10, UT PhD transfer to MIT EECS
- Tsinghua Physics undergrad, one APL publication at time of application, RA experience at UIUC
Job Outcomes
Unbeatable. Mainly various faculty positions -- many returned to Tsinghua. Those who go to industry mainly take quantitative roles.
